Save Water before its too late

Few sparrows were sitting together and were chasing for something. I was not able to make out for what are they struggling. Then what I saw was breathtaking. There was a tap from which there was a leakage. Though water flowing was drop by drop but it was sufficient to suffice their thirst. Initially, I thought the water is getting wasted but when I saw a troop of birds I was relieved.

In Summer what we all crave for – Ice Cream 😛 Yes,we crave for that but what we are more thirsty for is water and only gulps of water. Not only humans but every creature on earth longs for water. If we talk about plants, If we do not water them they become arid and soon die. Everyone needs water to suffice their thirst. But today when the major regions are covered with drought conditions, how it is possible to suffice the thirst of living creatures. There are places where the borewells are getting dried and water comes for 20minutes in a day. The clock tickles with a time of water and you have to store the water. The drought in Maharashtra is worsening. With 15 talukas just declared drought-hit, 136 out of a total 355 talukas in the state are now officially reeling under drought. They have received rainfall that is less than 50 percent of average in the state.

With the election at the peak and Modi fervor everywhere drought conditions remain unchecked and unattended. With more than 80 news channels, hardly any channel provide coverage on the drought conditions. With crops and cattle suffering badly the most important water crisis is what everyone is facing. But everyone is just busy in legislative election 2019 criticizing each other. With the current scenario, where tankers are much in demand, the political party is busy bullying each other. With every year situation getting worsened its an alarm for everyone to consider this as a major issue.

With the current demand and population, we just cannot rely on rains. Rainwater needs to be perforated and stored properly. Rainwater harvesting is a technique which should be preached everywhere just like news channel preach politicians. Rainwater harvesting is the collection and storage of rainwater that runs off from rooftops, parks, roads, open grounds, etc.The awareness about this technique will help for the sustainable environment.  Though the advisory was issued back in 2011 making rainwater harvesting mandatory for every society the current statistics are missing.

As a moral responsibility, it is our duty to save water. Use water cautiously and precisely. There is no life without water. Even while watching clothes and utensils use it judicially.
