Time to speak up #MeToo

The recent hashtag which has taken the internet by storm is #Metoo.

We all must be aware of this latest #MeToo movement, which is currently roaring all over the country. The social media, news channels everyone is busy discussing this controversial topic.

You just open any news section you will find a number of articles related to same. The social media is buzzing with high-profile names with this #MeToo trend. And the industry which is mainly affected or say which is most involved in this- is our Film Industry. The industry which looks so glamorous is so controversial, #Metoo is the proof of the same.

When Tanushree Datta had confessed about #MeToo earlier this month the whole industry got shaken. From that moment there are many big names from industry coming who are involved in this kind of misconduct. From senior actor Nana Patekar to Sanskari actor Alok Nath to ace director Vikas Behl to Actor-director Rajat Kapoor, all are being accused of harassment or sexual misconduct. There are female actresses who are opening up their heart after decades or two. While facts are facts and truth is not simple, there is a lot of difference between facts and conjectures.

In Tanushree Datta and Nana Patekar controversy, many actors have come up in support of Ashiq Banaya Aapne actress, while few of them are applauding her for speaking up against such senior actor whereas few senior members from industry as Shakti Kapoor and Gajendra Verma has mocked the actress and made the joke on her.

With this #MeToo movement the victims are getting a chance to share their grief and to speak up to the society. This is very bold decision to tell about this kind of incidents to the society who are too judgmental towards the female counterpart and always try to see female at faulty side. The actress with immense strength who spoke up but it is not easy to support true facts, she started getting threatening messages, disgusting comments on social media and getting trolled continuously. But now for our society, its time to understand that change this kind of cruel mindset and give all due respect to female members.

Girls & ladies come on get up and start fighting for your rights. The time till you won’t respect and fight for yourself no one else would do the same. These things are really disappointing and question the entire industry who are not supporting this #Metoo . I think everyone should support her and bring justice for the entire fraternity.

Hope that this #MeToo movement can bring major changes in the mindset of the people of our society.
